BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College track & field programs will open the outdoor season Saturday when they travel to Hickory, N.C. to compete in the Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational.
LMC is coming into the outdoor portion of its schedule with plenty of momentum following a successful indoor campaign. The Bobcats finished the season at the Conference Carolinas Indoor Championships with the men's team finishing fourth and the women's squad finishing seventh. Following the end of the season, the men's team was picked No. 8 in the USTFCCCA Southeast Regional Rankings.
Individually, Lees-McRae had six student-athletes named All-Southeast Region by the USTFCCCA. Joshua Cady, Kendall Isler, Haanes Huyck and Christian Lloyd were the four honorees from the men's team, while Erin Bingham and Mekayla Boswell were also named to the All-Region team from the women's squad. The six honorees are the most for the Bobcats during the indoor season since 2012 when LMC had seven athletes make the squads. Additionally, the Bobcats broke five school records during this indoor season in various events.
