Bobcats wrap up Buccaneer Classic on Saturday

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Lees-McRae College track & field programs closed out the Buccaneer Classic Saturday in Johnson City. On the final day of the classic, the Bobcats posted three top 15 finishes and one top 10 nod.

LMC's top performance Saturday came from Luke Rochester who finished sixth in the pole vault with a mark of 4.00m. It marks Rochester's third top 10 finish of the season. His vault of 4.00m is not a season-high for Rochester but it is the fifth-best mark in the league during this indoor season.

Senior Kaitlyn Gearing posted the top finish of any on the women's team. Gearing notched a mark of 10.57m in the triple jump to place 13th.

Tristin Bertie – Men's One Mile Run – 22nd – 4:46.33

Kaela Kelly – Women's One Mile Run – 36th – 7:06.31

The Bobcats will now prep for the Conference Carolinas Indoor Championships. The conference meet will take place on February 18th at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.
