BANNER ELK, N.C. -- The Lees-McRae Lady Bobcats beat the Converse College Valkryies, 3-0 (25-6, 26-24, 25-14) Friday night in a conference match at Williams Gymnasium.
After winning game one 25-6, the Lady Bobcats rallied to win
game two 26-24 and finished the match with a 25-14 win in game
Whitney Kiser led the Lady Bobcat attack with seven kills. Megan Epperson and Natalie Burns contributed with five kills, and Burns had two solo blocks. Lauren Dickover handed out 17 assists and had four service aces. Kell Bodgan also had four service aces and nine digs. Epperson also picked up nine digs for the Lady Bobcats.
Caitlyn Hemm led the Converse attack with five kills. Marisa Coleman had seven digs and Caitlin Smith and Lauren Hunsberger handed out three assists for the Valkryies.
With the win the Lady Bobcats improve to 5-8 overall and 2-0 in Conference Carolinas, while the Valkryies fall to 1-11 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
The Lady Bobcats next match will be Saturday, September 20th at 2 p.m. in Williams Gymnasium against the Limestone College Saints.
