Lady Bobcats Remain Unbeaten in Conference Carolinas Play
BANNER ELK, N.C. -- The Lees-McRae Lady Bobcats defeated the Anderson University Lady Trojans, 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-16), Saturday in Williams Gymnasium in a Conference Carolinas clash of unbeatens.
The Lady Trojans rallied in game one, but the Lady Bobcats held on for a 25-23 win. The Lady Bobcats controlled games two and three with 25-18 and 25-16 wins to secure the three set sweep.
Megan Epperson led the Lady Bobcat attack with seven kills and had 10 digs for the Bobcat defense. Sophomore Whitney Kiser had seven kills and three service aces. Kell Bodgan picked up 24 digs to set the pace for the Bobcat defense. Bodgan also had three service aces. Lauren Dickover handed out 16 assists.
With the win the Lady Bobcats remain unbeaten in conference play and improve to 5-0 in the conference and 8-8 overall, while the Trojans fall to 8-10, 4-1 in the conference.
The Bobcats' next match is on the road at Pfeiffer University Wednesday, October 1st at 7 p.m. The two teams are currently tied for first place in the Conference Carolinas and are the only two unbeaten squads remaining in the conference.
