WILSON, N.C. - The Mount Olive Trojans (16-16, 12-7) pulled out a 26-24, 27-25, 24-26, 25-20 victory over the Lees-McRae Lady Bobcats (16-14, 13-6) in a Conference Carolinas women's volleyball match Friday at Wilson, N.C. The match was played at Barton College.
Whitney Kiser (Connelly Springs, N.C.) finished with 10 kills and six blocks for Lees-McRae, while Megan Epperson (St. John, Ind.) and Katie Marie-Legg (Alta Loma, Calif.) added nine kills apiece. Epperson also had five blocks and 15 digs. Trisha Reese (Hanover, Penn.), 25, and Lauren Dickover (Las Vegas, Nev.), 19, combined for 44 assists. Kell Bogden (Leawood, Kan.) added a match-high 18 digs.
As a team the Lady Bobcats had a .241 hitting percentage including a .348 set one hitting percentage. Legg hit .643 with nine kills on 14 attempts and no errors. Kiser hit .529 with ten kills on 17 attempts with one error.
Racey Bartley led the Trojans with 21 kills, five aces and five blocks. Alicia Mote finished with 10 kills and 10 digs, and Corie Skislak added 10 kills and three blocks, while Joanie Werling recorded 43 assists and five blocks. Mallory Peavler finished with 11 digs.
The Lady Bobcats face Barton at noon tomorrow for their last regular season match.
