LEXINGTON, KY. - Sophomore libero, Kell Bodgan, earned honorable mention honors on the 2008 AVCA All-Southeast Region Team with her performance during the 2008 NCAA Div II women's volleyball season.
Bodgan (Leawood, Kan.) was the only member of the Lady Bobcat team to earn honors.
She led the team with 530 digs in 111 sets for an average of 4.77 digs per set, which was enough to lead the conference in digs per set. Twice during the season Bodgan broke the 30-dig mark. The first one came against Lander University on September 13th when she recorded 36 digs in four sets, and the second one came against St. Andrews October 31st when she picked up 31 digs in four sets. On October 24th, Bodgan fell one dig shy of 30 with a 29-dig effort in five sets against Mount Olive.
Against top teams in the region Bodgan continued to impress. Her season high of 36 digs came against Lander, a team that finished the season ranked 6th in the southeast region. Against Lincoln Memorial, who finished the season ranked 7th in the southeast region, Bogdan picked up 22 digs.
"Kell displayed moments of brilliance on defense this year, and she certainly was our best passer this season," head coach Jamie Petrik said. "She should be proud of this award."
Bodgan also represented the Lady Bobcats with an All-Conference Honorable Mention.
