INDIANAPOLIS --- Sophomore Taylor Pritchett (Apex, N.C.) is ranked sixth in the nation in aces per set, and the Lees-McRae College women's volleyball team is listed ninth in the same category, announced NCAA officials Tuesday with the release of this week's NCAA Division II women's volleyball statistics.
Lees-McRae (6-6, 3-2 Conference Carolinas) enjoyed a strong stretch of play last week, sweeping its three conference matches against Limestone College, Converse College, and Erskine College to move into a tie for second in the West Division standings. The Bobcats enter the week ranked ninth in the nation in aces per set with a mark of 2.55.
Pritchett begins the week ranked sixth in the nation in aces per set after posting 16 aces against Limestone, Converse and Erskine. With her strong week, the sophomore setter moved up 32 spots from last week, now standing at an average of 0.85 aces per frame. Senior Taylor Clendenin (Statesville, N.C.) also ranks 88th in the nation in aces per set with a mark of 0.48.
Lees-McRae returns to the court on Friday, September 28 when the Bobcats travel to Wilson, N.C. to take on Barton College in league play at 7 p.m.
