LMC Volleyball fell twice Saturday in Belmont, N.C.

BELMONT, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's volleyball team fell twice in Belmont, N.C. by identical 3-0 scores to Belmont Abbey and Augusta. With Saturday's results, the Bobcats' record moves to 8-15 overall and 4-7 record in conference play.  

Belmont Abbey Recap – The Crusaders defeated LMC in straight sets in the first match of the day: 25-20, 25-20 and 25-10. Haylee Leonard and Logan Slusher paced the Bobcat offense with five kills each and both players tallied at least three blocks in the match.

Lees-McRae struggled to slow down Belmont Abbey's offense as the Crusaders hit .304 as a team compared to .092 for the Bobcats.

Augusta Recap –Augusta won the three sets by scores of 25-23, 25-16 and 25-23 in the second match of the day over the Bobcats. LMC was led in the match by Darian Parsons who logged a double-double with 11 assists and 13 digs. Both marks were the best for any Bobcat against the Jaguars.

The Bobcats were not far off in the first and third sets as they were tied with the Jaguars at 23 all in both frames. Unfortunately for LMC, Augusta came through with the next two points to finish off the sweep.  

Next Up – The Bobcats will return to Williams Gymnasium for the final time this season Tuesday when it hosts Pfeiffer at 7 p.m.
