WILSON, N.C. – After winning two straight matches, the Lees-McRae College women's volleyball team fell to Barton (25-14, 25-13, 25-11). The loss drops LMC's record to 10-16 overall and 6-8 in conference play.
Set 1: The Bobcats started the first set well scoring the first two points in the frame. Unfortunately, LMC could not keep up the pressure on the Bulldogs as they scored seven of the next nine points to not only take the lead but also take the momentum. That shift was enough for Barton to take the first set, 25-14.
Set 2: LMC was neck-and-neck with the Bulldogs as it trailed by just two points, 14-12. Barton, however, went on an 11-1 run to close out the Bobcats, 25-13.
Set 3: Another large run by Barton proved to be the undoing for Lees-McRae in the third as it went on a 7-0 run to grow a five-point lead (13-8) to 12 points (20-8). The large run by the Bulldogs was more than enough to finish off the set and match, 25-11.
Next Up: The Bobcats will close out their regular season next weekend when they take on Erskine on the road Friday. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
