Women’s Volleyball hits the road to Lenoir-Rhyne on Saturday

BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's volleyball team will travel to Hickory, N.C. Saturday to take on Lenoir-Rhyne in a non-conference matchup. The match is scheduled to get underway at 2 p.m.

Last Time Out – The Bobcats began their 2017 season last weekend at Georgia College's Bobcat Classic in Milledgeville, Georgia. Lees-McRae dropped its first match in four sets to Valdosta State Friday before falling in three frames to both Anderson (S.C.) and Georgia College on Saturday.

Sophomore Serving Stat – Sophomore Darian Parsons currently ranks fourth in Conference Carolinas with nine service aces so far in 2017. Parsons, who led the Bobcats with 44 aces last season, posted a career-high six aces last Saturday against Georgia College.

Hitting her MarkLexi Zangari enters Saturday's match against Lenoir-Rhyne ranked seventh in the league with a hitting percentage of .240. Zangari's hitting percentage leads Lees-McRae among players with at least 10 attack attempts.

Record Watch – After totaling 28 digs last weekend, senior libero Madison Martin needs just nine more digs to become the program's all-time leader in that category passing former Bobcat Megan Epperson (2008-2011), who totaled 1,237 digs in her career as a Bobcat.

Series History – Saturday will be the first matchup between Lenoir-Rhyne and Lees-McRae since the 2013 season. Since 2006, Lees-McRae is 3-5 against the Bears with its last win coming in 2009.
