BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's volleyball team will return to the court Saturday when it opens its home and conference schedules against Barton College. First serve is set for 2 p.m. from Williams Gymnasium.

Last Time Out – LMC last played a match on September 11 when it traveled to UVa-Wise. The Cavaliers got the best of the Bobcats that night as they won in four sets (25-19, 25-16, 27-29, 26-24). With the loss, Lees-McRae moved to 3-10 on the season.

Coming into Conference Play – For the majority of teams in Conference Carolinas this weekend will mark the beginning of their respective conference schedules. Currently, three teams own winning records in King (8-5), Emmanuel (7-6) and North Greenville (7-6). Focusing on the Barton/Lees-McRae matchup, the Bobcats are looking to start conference play with a victory for the fourth time in the past five seasons.

Small's Serving Stats – Junior Ellissa Small has been one of the most consistent players from the service line so far this season within the conference. Small currently ranks second in the league averaging 0.59 aces per frame, which trails only King's Caitlyn Crawford (0.60). If Small can maintain this current pace, her 0.59 aces per set would rank within the top 10 for a single season in program history.

About Barton – After claiming the Conference Carolinas Tournament Championship a season ago, Barton has not seen the same amount of success on the court this fall. The Bulldogs come to Banner Elk with a 3-11 record overall. Even with the sub-.500 record, the Bulldogs still have one of the top offensive players in the conference on their squad in Kaytlin Elkins. Elkins not only leads the league with 232 kills but she also ranks ninth nationally in that category.

Series History vs. Barton – Since the start of the 2005 season, the Bobcats have won 15 of the 24 matches against Barton. However, the Bulldogs have won four straight against Lees-McRae. LMC's last victory in the series came on November 7, 2015.
