HIGH POINT, N.C. – Three members of the Lees-McRae College women's volleyball team landed spots on the Academic All-Conference team that was announced by the league office Friday morning. Juniors Ellissa Small and Lexi Zangari were joined by Kaci Thornton as Bobcats that received this recognition.
Overall, 49 student-athletes were recognized for their work in the classroom Thursday. The Conference Carolinas Academic All- Conference teams are comprised of junior and senior student-athletes who have competed in a conference-sponsored sport and maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale in all work completed at their member institution. The GPA is calculated based on the student-athlete's cumulative average through the previous semester and each student-athlete must have attended their member institution for at least one academic year.
Lees-McRae will return to the court Saturday afternoon when they make the short trip to Bristol, Tennessee to take on rival King. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
