St. Augustine, Fla. - The Lees-McRae College women's volleyball team fell to both Embry-Riddle (25-18, 26-24, 25-18) and West Georgia (25-20, 25-17, 25-16,) in three sets Friday in St. Augustine, Florida.

Embry-Riddle Recap - After dropping the first set, the Bobcats battled the Eagles and overcame a significant deficit in the second to tie the score at 24. Unfortunately for the Bobcats, the Eagles would win the next two points to take the set and eventually the match.

Lees-McRae was paced by Olivia Ney, who finished the match with eight kills, while Caitlyn Smirne and Lex Zangari had seven and six, respectively. Setting up this trio was mainly senior Megan Gallion who totaled 17 assists in the contest.

West Georgia Recap - In the late match, the Bobcats saw the Wolves of West Georgia get out to an early lead from which they were not able to overcome. Despite the loss, several Bobcats had strong performances. Freshman defensive specialist Kaitlyn Arentz found herself once again with double digit digs at 10 on the match. Caitlyn Smirne also had a strong performance with four aces and nine digs of her own. Overall, Lees-McRae had a very balanced attack with seven players with at least two kills.
