Bobcats fall on the road to Emmanuel

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA. – The Lees-McRae College women's volleyball team fell on Saturday at Emmanuel in three sets (10-25, 12-25, 19-25).

First Set – The Bobcats did not play their best volleyball early in this one. Emmanuel were able to get out to a big lead early thanks largely to a slow offensive performance by Lees-McRae. After posting a .038 hitting percentage, the Bobcats found themselves down heading into the second.

Second Set – Lees-McRae were not able to shake their offensive woes in the second set, and again saw Emmanuel build a large lead. The Lions were able to use excellent serve play to keep their momentum and win the second set, 12-25.

Third Set – Lees-McRae had their best performance in the third, but it did not prove to be enough to contain the Lions as they went on to win the match in straight sets.

Stat Standouts – Lees-McRae were led by Caitlyn Smirne (7 kills). Megan Gallion led the team in assists (15 assists) while leading the team in digs was Kaitlyn Arentz (13 digs).

Next Up – The Bobcats will return to action next Saturday when they face King on the road. First serve is set for noon.
