FERRUM, Va. – Lees-McRae women's volleyball senior Outside Hitter
Sydney Stigler recorded her 1,000th career kill this evening as the Bobcats opened Conference Carolinas play with a 3-0 win at Ferrum.

FINAL SCORE: Lees-McRae def. Ferrum, 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-23)
LOCATION: Swartz Gymnasium – Ferrum, Virginia
RECORDS: Lees-McRae (1-7/1-0), Ferrum (2-3/0-1)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae used an 8-1 run in the first set to take the 21-19 advantage and collected the opening set by a final of 25-21 off a service ace from Emma Summerfield.
- The Bobcats recorded the second-set victory after closing with a 7-2 run for the 25-19 set win. Lees-McRae used a hitting percentage of .333 for the second-set win.
- In the third set, the Bobcats held off a late rally by Ferrum as Lees-McRae won 25-23 in the Conference Carolinas opener.
- Stigler finished the match with 10 kills and added three service aces and five digs. Stigler has now collected 1,004 kills in her career with the Bobcats.
- Rebecca Ryan joined Stigler with double-digit kills at 10 with a .556 hitting percentage. Clara Duarte added eight kills in tonight's win. Peyton Volk-Tuller and Jaydn Walters notched four kills apiece for the Bobcats.
- Iza Rosin started the offense with 30 assists and Summerfield registered 12 digs in three sets played.
- Ferrum's Catherine Bennett had a match-high 12 kills in the contest and Makayla Rumley joined her in double figures with 10.
