Seven different Lady Knights scored as the St. Andrews
Presbyterian College women's lacrosse team rolled past
Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference rival Lees-McRae College
19-8 on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Bobcats fall to 1-9, (0-4)
while the Lady Knights of SAPC improve to 4-8, (1-5 CVAC).
Abby White gave the Lady Bobcats the early lead with the first
goal of the game, however the lead would be short lived as Kerrie
Brown would answer back for the Lady Knights just nine seconds
later. Brown won the ensuing draw control and stormed down field
to knot the score at one a piece
Brown's goal started a 5-0 SAPC surge in just a three minute and
14 second span as the home side took full control of the game. The
Lady Knights built their lead to 10-5 at halftime and scored the
first seven goals of the second half to coast to the 11-goal
victory.
Brown led the Knights attack with six goals and an assist for
seven points. Correy Whitbeck and Kelsey Binggeli each scored four
goals for St. Andrews while Binggeli tied Brown with seven points
after added a trio of assists. Whitbeck totaled five points with
one helper. Katie Wright registered four points off two goals and
two assists. Elise Moore, Alexa Muraida and Kristi Cooke each
chipped in singles to round out the scoring for the home
side.
Brittany Dabkowski and Julia Campbell led the Lady Bobcats
attack scoring a pair of goals as well as an assist. Laura
Hawthorne also found the back of the net twice with White and
Amelia Henson adding singles.
Eryn McCaffrey made five saves in the Lady Knights goal while
Olivia Maurey, (pictured top left), registered 12 stops in the cage
for Lees-McRae.
The Lady Bobcats travel to CVAC leading Pfeiffer University
Wednesday afternoon to take on the Lady Falcons.
