The Lees-McRae College Bobcats tennis team earned their seventh
win in the past nine games, taking down Erskine College 7-2 in
Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference action Friday afternoon.
The Bobcats improve to 11-8 overall and even their CVAC record at
4-4.
After sweeping the doubles matches, the Bobcats cruised into
singles play with a 3-0 lead. After dropping the first game 3-6,
Shean Sumner won game two 6-3 and led 3-0 in the deciding game when
Guillerme Rebello was forced to retire. In the number two singles
match, Alex Mojski, (pictured top left), easily handled Caleb
Barnes 6-0, 6-1 to clinch the victory for the Bobcats.
The Bobcats will finish their season this weekend, traveling to
Division I Elon University. Matches are set to begin Saturday
morning at 11:00am.
