LAKE WALES, FLA. - On day two of the Warner Invitational
Tournament, the Lees-McRae College Bobcats men's volleyball team
won their first match against Missouri Baptist, 3-2 (25-30, 30-21,
28-30, 30-28, 15-8), and lost their second match against Cardinal
Stritch, 3-1 (28-30, 30-28, 28-30, 32-34)
In the first match of the day against Missouri Baptist, Colin Kelly
recorded 23 kills. Chad Mercado followed with 13 kills, and Ryan
Black had 12 kills on 18 attempts with five errors for a .611
hitting percentage. Ryan Black also led the team with two and half
blocks. Robert Ritchie scooped up a team high ten digs, and Juan
Ramirez had 55 assists. Raphael Vieira had six service aces in the
match.
In match two, Mercado tallied a team high 24 kills on 41 attempts
with six errors for a .439 hitting percentage. Kelly added 14
kills and Ryan Black had 12 kills. Ritchie collected 17 digs, and
Ramirez handed out 61 assists.
The Bobcats traveled a total of 4,795 miles and went 5-3 in eight
matches over a span of seven days.
On the season the Bobcats are 17-5.
Their next match will be in the cozy confines of Williams Gymnasium
as they host King College March 27th.
