HICKORY, N.C. - Freshman Jamara Cook finished third in all three
throwing events with distances of 34.38m for a new school record in
the hammer throw, 31.08m in the discus and a distance of 9.46m in
the shot put to lead the Lees-McRae women's track and field team at
the Lenoir Rhyne Power Sox Invitational.
Cook led the team that had 24 top six finishes at the meet.
On the track, Erin Tyler led the Lady Bobcats with a 1st place
finish in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.76, a 4th place finish
in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:13.00, she led off the
4x100m relay team that finished 2nd with a time of 52.43 and
anchored the 4x400 relay 5th 4:33.15
The team will return to action on Friday and Saturday for the
Conference Carolinas Championship Meet.
