BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College men's volleyball team
won a 3-1 (30-32, 36-34, 30-25, 30-27) grueling match over Quincy
University Sunday afternoon in Williams Gymnasium in a
nonconference match.
After dropping the first set 32-30, the Bobcats rallied to win
sets two (36-34), three (30-25) and four (30-27) to earn the
win.
Chad Mercado led the Bobcats with 23 kills and 14 digs. Raphael
Vieira and Edmund Walkley followed with 12 kills. Walkley had a
.375 hitting percentage, 12 kills on 24 attempts with three
errors. Juan Ramirez passed out 54 assists, and Steven Buning had
seven total blocks.
The Bobcats will return to action Saturday at Mount Olive for
the Conference Carolinas Inaugural Championship Match.
