BANNER ELK, N.C. - Converse College spoiled the Lees-McRae
College Lady Bobcats Senior Day as the Valkyries won 23-11 Saturday
afternoon in a Conference Carolinas women's lacrosse game.
Converse took an early 4-1 lead, but Lees-McRae rallied to tie
the game at four. After a goal by each team timed the game at
five, the Valkyries out scored the Lady Bobcats 9-4 in the final
minutes of the half to take a 14-9 halftime lead.
Converse added nine more second half goals compared to two goals
for Lees-McRae in the second half to earn the 23-11 win.
Lacy Bevilacqua had a game-high 11 points with nine goals and
two assists in the game for Converse. Bridget Dullea added six
goals, and Brook Bondurant had four points. Kayla Foster and
Jennifer Tropiano had three goals apiece, and P Tyler Dale added a
goal. Brianna Hoffman, Bevilacqua and Dullea had five draw
controls apiece, and Dulea and Tropiano had five groundballs.
For the Lady Bobcats, Ellie Psillas had a team-high five goals
and one assists for six points. Emily Guenthner had four goals and
a game-high 11 ground balls. Psillas had ten ground balls.
Guenthner also had five draw controls.
