CINCINNATI, Ohio --- The Lees-McRae College
men's volleyball team utilized a balanced attack and eight blocks
en route to a 3-1 victory over the College of Mount St. Joseph on
Saturday evening.
Lees-McRae (1-1) posted a .276 hitting percentage on the night,
recording 71 digs and eight blocks, while limiting Mount St. Joseph
(0-1) to a -.011 clip on the attack. The Bobcats won the match by
scores of 25-10, 22-25, 25-20, and 25-17.
Matt Harpenau (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Sam Sheers (Centerville,
Ohio) paced the Bobcats with eight kills each, while John Lucas
(Cincinnati, Ohio) and Dylan Kembre (West Chester, Ohio) added
seven and six smashes, respectively.
Randy Ramirez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) and Kembre posted 21 and
20 assists, respectively, while Efrain Negron (Orlando, Fla.)
chipped in a match-high 22 digs. Lucas also added 11 digs and three
blocks, while Harpenau and Joshua Jones (Christmas, Fla.) each
posted three stuffs.
Brad Miller led the way for Mount St. Joseph with a match-high
nine kills, while Nick Jennings chipped in a contest-best 23
assists. Miller and Luke Eschenbach added nine and eight digs each,
while Eschenbach also posted six kills.
Lees-McRae returns to the court on Saturday, January 21 when the
Bobcats host Lindenwood University at 7 p.m. in Williams
Gymnasium.
