No. 11 Pfeiffer Runs Past LMC, 22-1

MISENHEIMER, N.C. --- The Lees-McRae women's lacrosse team dropped a 22-1 decision to No. 11 Pfeiffer in Conference Carolinas action Saturday afternoon at NE Lefko Field in Misenheimer, N.C.

The Falcons (8-2, 2-0 CC) saw Kristi Korn net a hat trick in the first five minutes while outshooting LMC 31-3. The Bobcats (3-6, 0-4) played for the first time in 10 days while Katelin Rooney (Naples, Fla.) scored LMC's only goal.

PU showed why it is ranked in the 15 in the country while jumping out to a 10-0 lead in the first 9:46 of the contest.

Korn scored three of her game-high four goals, including two in 36 seconds, while Stephanie Athens notched a pair of her six assists.

Haley Gourdie notched two goals before Rooney made it 11-1 at the 13:15 mark of the first half.

Sophomore Mia Emmerson (Orlando, Fla.) earned four of her five saves in the first half.

Eight different Falcons netted a goal in the final half while scooping 29 groundballs in the contest.

Sophomore Jenah Tracy (Naples, Fla.) led the squad in shots (two), groundballs (three) and draw controls (three).

Freshman Samantha Yantz (Leander, Texas) forced two turnovers.

LMC welcomes Young Harris to Tate Field on Wednesday, April 2 at 4 p.m. for a nonconference tilt.
