DUE WEST, S.C. --- Senior Hang Lak Choi earned a doubles win and Sebastian Zuhr and Gabriel Muniz capped off their freshmen campaigns with a pair of wins, but the Lees-McRae men's tennis team dropped a heartbreaker, 5-4, to Erskine in a Conference Carolinas battle Tuesday afternoon at the Erskine Tennis Courts in Due West, S.C.
The Flying Fleet (4-12, 3-7 CC) won four of the six singles matches. The Bobcats (6-14, 3-7) end their season after falling to the fourth tiebreak procedure in the conference, breaking a three-way tie with EC and Belmont Abbey.
Zuhr (Burlington, N.C.) teamed with senior Hang Lak Choi (Newton, N.C.) to manhandle Eddie Gullino and Benny Uy, 8-0, in No. 3 doubles play.
Muniz (Soao, Brazil) joined Carlos Pinel (Vitoria, Espírito Santo, Brazil) to hand Andre Andre and Alan Pearce an 8-4 loss in No. 2 doubles.
Muniz would later defeat Pearce, 7-6 (1), 6-4 in No. 3 singles action.
Zuhr cruised past Uy, 6-2, 6-4.
Lak Choi went blow-for-blow with Gullino, but eventually fell in three sets.
The Bobcats' six wins is the most in the men's program since the 2010-11 season (eight).
