Bobcats Perform Well in Doubles Action in Loss to Pfeiffer, 7-2

BANNER ELK, N.C. --- Freshman Sebastian Zuhr played well while earning a doubles win, but the Lees-McRae men's tennis team fell to Pfeiffer, 7-2, in Conference Carolinas play Friday afternoon at the LMC Tennis Courts in Banner Elk, N.C.

The Falcons (12-4, 5-2 CC) swept singles action while a pair of matches went three sets. The Bobcats fell to 4-11, 1-4 on the season.

LMC handled business in doubles action by taking No. 2 and 3 by identical 8-6 scores.

Zuhr (Burlington, N.C.) and duel-athlete Thomas Deeley (Timaru, New Zealand) outmuscled David Weir and Stephen Miller in No. 3 doubles play.

Zuhr would drop a three-set thriller to Zach Huffman, 6-3, 6-7 (3), 4-10.

Gabriel Muniz (Soao, Brazil) joined Carlos Pinel (Vitoria, Espírito Santo, Brazil) to beat Axel Woerner and Orlando Castillo in No. 2 doubles action.

Sophomore Garrett Lakey (North Wilkesboro, N.C.) gave Miller fits at No. 4 singles, but eventually fell in three sets.

LMC welcomes Lincoln Memorial Wednesday, April 8 at 2 p.m. to Banner Elk, N.C.
