MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Lees-McRae College Cross Country program wrapped up its 2016 season with an 11th place finish at the Southeast Regional in Montevallo, Ala. Saturday morning. It marked the best finish for the Bobcats in a regional since notching an eighth place finish in 2010.
Sophomore Austin Thompson ran the top time for the Bobcats Saturday (32:09.45). Thompson's time was the 32nd best in the field and eighth among Conference Carolinas runners. Cody McNeely (32:46.59), Shawn Graves (33:22.31), Lane Graves (33:34.81), Josh Hall (35:10.93), Tyler Pauley (35:27.21), Benjamin Wilson (35:32.62) also ran in the race for Lees-McRae.
Lees-McRae, which finished second at the Conference Carolinas Championships, will return a wealth of experience next season as it will lose just two members of its 11 person roster to graduation.
