TIGERVILLE, S.C. --- Sophomore Peyton LeCompte continued her impressive streak with a hat trick and senior Taylor Drake dished out three assists, but the Lees-McRae women's lacrosse team lost in heartbreaking fashion, 7-6, to North Greenville in Conference Carolinas play Saturday afternoon at Pepsi Stadium in Tigerville, S.C.

The Crusaders (5-4, 2-2 CC) saw Candace Petit scoop a game-high eight groundballs while Sydney Taylor amassed seven saves. The Bobcats (2-4, 1-2) netminder, Mia Emmerson (Orlando, Fla.), stonewalled 15 shots.

LeCompte (Carolina Beach, N.C.) is currently tied for sixth in the conference in goals scored after today's contest.

The sophomore sensation spotted LMC a 3-0 lead with a trio of goals in the first 8:42 of action.

Drake (Jupiter, Fla.) assisted the first one while senior teammate Jenah Tracy (Naples, Fla.) earned one on the third goal.

Three different NGU players registered a goal, including one from Natalie Dufresne on a free position attempt.

Coach Lexi King's bunch took a 5-3 lead when Tracy and Constance Madden (Stuart, Fla.) found the back of the net in the first 3:52 of the second half.

Sophomore Tiffany Laster (Jupiter, Fla.) kept the lead at two, 6-4, with a goal with 21 minutes remaining.

NGU clawed back into it and scored the eventual game-winning goal off the stick of Hanna Hawkins with 1:06 on the clock.

Sophomore Sara Henderson (Huntersville, N.C.) led the team with five groundballs and two caused turnovers.

A trio of Crusaders turned in six shots.

LMC welcomes Wingate Wednesday, March 16 at 6 p.m. to Tate Field for a nonconference tilt.
