BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's lacrosse team picked up its second win of the season Sunday afternoon defeating Barton College, 14-4, at Tate Field. The victory improves LMC's record to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in league play.
A key factor in the game Sunday was LMC's productivity with free-position shots. Eight of the team's 14 goals came on these chances. Overall, the Bobcats went 8-for-11 on free-position attempts.
Lees-McRae had four different players register two goals or more Sunday. Sara Henderson led these efforts with four goals. Henderson also added a pair of assists and picked up five groundballs. Constance Madden notched three goals of her own, while Aley Shepard and Tiffany Laster both chipped in a pair of goals.
Freshman Dayna Decesare stopped a career-high 16 shots in 20 attempts on her way to securing her second win of the season. With the win, Decesare's record stands at 2-3.
The Bobcats will look to make it two wins in a row Wednesday when they welcome Pfeiffer to Tate Field. That contest is set to begin at 4 p.m.
