BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-14) to King University Wednesday night at Williams Gymnasium. The loss moves Lees-McRae's record to 2-12 on the season and 0-7 in conference play.

Set 1 – The Tornado did not start the match well offensively hitting .200 as a team in the opening frame. However, the Bobcats really scuffled with four kills on 20 attempts with 10 errors for a -.300 hitting percentage. The lack of offense really doomed Lees-McRae as the Tornado went on to a 25-13 set win.

Set 2 – Lees-McRae rebounded in the second frame boosting its hitting percentage to .136 in the stanza. King also improved but to a much greater degree with an attack percentage of .474 in 19 attacks. That added boost from the Tornado attackers derailed LMC's hopes in evening the match at one a piece as King went up 2-0 after a 25-18 victory.

Set 3 – In what proved to be the final set of Wednesday's match, the Bobcats ran into five blocks from the Tornado. On the other side of the ball, King hit .368 as a team on 19 attacks. With those two factors working together, the Tornado finished off the match with a 25-14 win.

Stat Standouts – Wes Rogman paced Lees-McRae with nine kills on 20 attacks on the night. Michael Wahl set up Rogman and the rest of the Bobcat offense with 17 assists and Chris Woolslayer paced LMC defensively with nine digs.

Next Up – LMC will return to Williams Gymnasium on Friday when it hosts Emmanuel College at 7 pm.
