Women's Lacrosse falls to Belmont Abbey in regular season finale, 18-7

BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's lacrosse team fell by a score of 18-7 to Belmont Abbey College Friday night at Tate Field. The loss pushes LMC's 2018 final regular season record to 1-11 overall and 1-9 within Conference Carolinas play.

LMC's seven goals Friday night came from three different Bobcats. Senior Peyton LeCompte closed out her career at Tate Field by scoring four goals, attempting six shots and collecting eight draw controls. Beth Haynes scored two goals, and Tiffany Laster scored one goal and one assist. Additionally, Laster scooped up five ground balls and won three draw controls as well.

In net, Samantha Thomson took the loss for the Bobcats moving her record to 0-5. Thomson did make five saves in 60 minutes of action on the evening.

The Bobcats will lose six seniors to graduation in LeCompte, Laster, Sara Henderson, Constance Madden, Christy Caton and Anna Lingle. LMC is set to return 11 players from this season's team to the field in 2019.
