MARS HILL, N.C. – The Lees-McRae men's tennis team opened their season by claiming a 7-0 shutout victory, posting six wins in the singles competition and a pair of victories in the doubles competition, over Mars Hill in the season opener this afternoon. The victory marks the program's first win under new head coach
Gene Highfield.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Jofre Tura-Campalans claimed the #1 singles, Hanqing Wang won the #2 singles, and Patryk Garwacki posted a win in the #3 singles.
- Miodrag Popovic earned the victory in the #4 singles, while the Bobcats completed the sweep in the singles competition with wins by Landon Church (#5 singles) and Matt Meluch (#6 singles).
- The team of Tura-Campalans and Garwacki won the #1 doubles match, while the duo of Popovic and Wang posted a victory in the #2 doubles match.
UP NEXT:
The Bobcats will return to action on Mar. 6 as they visit Catawba in a non-conference contest starting at 12 p.m.
