BELMONT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey held a 52-33 advantage in kills and maintained a slim 5-1 edge in service aces en route to claiming the straight-set victory over the visiting Bobcats in the Conference Carolinas match this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Michael Marsans finished with a team-high nine kills to go along with three block assists.
- Max Kuntz chipped in seven kills, five block assists, and a solo block, while Ethan Gardner added another seven kills.
- Riley Chapman posted 30 assists and Steven Nalls and M.J. Doyle combined for 13 digs.
- Both teams traded points for the majority of the first set as the score fell to 26-26.
- The Crusaders used a kill and a late service ace to post a 28-26 victory in set one.
- Belmont Abbey used a 10-2 run in the second stanza to grab momentum with a 20-11 lead and scored the final two points to clinch a 25-16 win in set two.
- Lees-McRae battled in the third frame but failed to complete the rally as the Crusaders posted a 25-22 victory in set three to clinch the conference win.
- The Bobcats held a 9-3 edge in blocks in the match.
FOR THE FOES:
- Matteo Miselli and Andrew Kohut tallied 15 and 12 kills to pace the Crusaders.
- Brennan Davis chipped in 41 assists.
