John Boisette, claimed this week's Conference Carolinas women's track & field weekly awards after earning NCAA Division II provisional marks at the predominately NCAA Division I meet over the weekend. Senior
Britney Augustin was named the Women's Track Athlete of the Week, while
Zai Fraser was named the Women's Field Athlete of the Week.
Augustin, a senior business administration major, won the 400-meter hurdles at the VertKlasse Meeting on Saturday with a time of 1:00.78, which earned a NCAA Division II provisional time by 1.25 seconds. Her time also ranks seventh in the NCAA Division II this season and leads the Conference Carolinas.
Fraser, a sophomore business administration, finished second at the VertKlasse Meeting at High Point on Saturday with a distance of 12.06 meters, which earned an NCAA Division II provisional mark by .12 meters. Her mark ranks tied for 10th in the NCAA Division II so far this season and leads the Conference Carolinas. Fraser also was 10th in the long jump with a mark of 5.37 meters.
The Bobcats will travel to Hickory, North Carolina on Friday, April 8 to compete in the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears Invitational.
