Lees-McRae Student-Athletes Record 21st Consecutive Semester with GPA over 3.0

BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae Athletics released its end-of-fall semester GPA Report with the Bobcat student-athletes earning a 3.30 grade-point average and posting their 21st semester in a row with a GPA over 3.0. The women's overall GPA was 3.51, while the men's GPA was 3.13.
 
"Our academic achievement this semester is a true testament to the student-athletes' commitment to being successful in the classroom alongside their respective sport," said Jeff Merrill, Deputy Director of Athletics – Chief Compliance Officer. "Additionally, the Burton Center for Student Success is crucial to our pursuit of excellence in the classroom by having academic assistance that is accommodating for the athletes' schedules."
 
17 Lees-McRae men's and women's programs earned a GPA over 3.0 for the semester, led by the women's swimming team under first-year head coach Harrison Hartman, who registered a 3.69 GPA in the fall semester, and the Bobcat men's soccer under second-year head coach Taylor Morton with a 3.54 team GPA.
