Foley and Men's Cycling Impressive in Opening Weekend at Piedmont

RESULTS

DEMOREST, Ga. – Josh Foley earned the top podium spot in XC Men's A and STXC Men's A races over the weekend as Lees-McRae men's cycling compiled three wins in their opening weekend at Piedmont University.
 
THE BASICS
RACE: The Piedmont University MTB Kickoff
LOCATION: Demorest, Georgia
 
 NOTABLES:

• Foley notched his first victory of the season the XC Men's A race on Saturday as the Bobcats took the first three podium spots on the day. Ian McDonald and Nathan Surowiec followed in second and third place respectively and Phillip Naude took sixth in his debut.
• Foley continued his dominance in Georgia with first place in the STXC Men's A race on Sunday. McDonald collected third in the race and Naude and Cameron Locklear locked up the fourth and fifth positions.
• In the Downhill portion on Saturday, Levi Smith led the Bobcats with a third-place finish in the Men's A section. Dominic Mudry collected a fifth place for the Bobcats.
• The Bobcats paired up with the women's cycling team to take the first two spots in the team relay with Naude, Tessa Greep, and Anabel Miller claiming the win on Sunday. The team of Foley, Lina Dorscht, and Lauren Moon followed in second place.
• Hunter Post took third in both the XC Men's B and STXC Men's B races over the weekend.
