BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae men's cycling hosted the High Country Collegiate Mountain Bike Challenge this weekend.
Guillermo Tovar and
Omar Wilson led the Bobcats with wins in the Dual Slalom and Short Track Cross Country.

RACE: High Country Collegiate MTB Challenge
LOCATION: Banner Elk, North Carolina
NOTABLES:
- Omar Wilson started the weekend with a runner-up finish in the Cross Country A race. Nathan Surowiec picked up a fourth-place finish and Gabriel Saenz finished in 11th. Phillip Naude rounded out the Bobcats in the top 20 with a 19th place finish.
- Tovar continued his Gravity season with a victory in the Dual Slalom on Saturday after qualifying first individually. Dominic Mudry placed fifth and Max Ligman took 15th after the qualifying session.
- On Sunday, Wilson collected the win in the STXC A race with a dominating finish for the Bobcats. Surowiec collected eighth place for Lees-McRae and Saenz earned 16th in Sunday's race. Ryan Avery claimed 19th and Naude followed in 23rd for the Bobcats.
- Mudry picked up a runner-up finish in the Downhill on Saturday afternoon and Holden Wierema followed in third. Ligman rounded out the Bobcats in the top five with fifth place.
- Spencer Gibson collected the victory in the Cross Country B race for Lees-McRae.
- Kade Lucas registered the win in the Downhill B race for the Bobcats.
