SALEM, Va. – The
Lees-McRae men's and women's track & field programs were back in action on Friday and Saturday at the Finn Pincus Invitational hosted by Roanoke College. The Bobcat women's program broke two school records with
Campbell Dille in the Mile and the Distance Medley Relay on Friday night.
THE BASICS
MEET: Finn Pincus Invitational
LOCATION: Kerr-Cregger Field House – Salem, Virginia
MEN'S NOTABLES:
- Christian Bargaineer started the meet with a qualifying time of 8.71 seconds in 60 Meter Hurdles to lead the Bobcats on a strong two-day meet.
- Max Geckler earned sixth place in the 3,000 Meters with a time of 9:05.37 and followed on Saturday with a victory in the 5,000 Meters with a time of 15:41.07. Josh Brett followed with a time of 9:21.06 in the 3,000m and recorded a second-place finish in the 5,000m after crossing the line at 16:01.80.
- Lodrick Scott placed fourth in the Men's High Jump after clearing 1.85 meters on Friday and JD Green followed with a clearance of 1.80m for the Bobcats.
- In the Men's Shot Put, Michael Keen set a personal record with a toss of 13.91 meters and collected fifth place. Joshua Ehresman followed in sixth with a throw of 13.91 meters and Khan Cline registered a throw of 12.21 meters for the Bobcats.
- Jakob Gerlach, Ben Gribbins, Ethan Urichko, and Rien Freeman collected second place in the Men's Distance Medley Relay on Friday with a time of 10:57.25.
WOMEN'S NOTABLES:
- Lees-McRae women's track & field started out well on Friday evening with a new school record in the Women's Distance Medley Relay with Deanna Betzer, Campbell Dille, Maddie Quinn, and Kaitlyn Rowe comprising the squad. The Bobcats finished the event in second place with a time of 13:20.31.
- Dille continued her strong weekend with a school record in the mile after crossing the line in a time of 5:26.50. Quinn followed in the race with a time of 5:35.67. Dille also took second in the 800 Meters with a time of 2:26.41.
- Betzer collected a top spot on the podium for Lees-McRae in the 5,000 Meters with a time of 18:52.94.
- Lora Dillon also joined Betzer with a victory in the Women's Long Jump after a mark of 5.32 meters. Dillon secured her second victory of the Finn Pincus Invitational in the Women's Triple Jump with a season-best jump of 11.48m.
- Keagan Osika took fourth in the Long Jump with a mark of 5.10 meters and finished first in the 60 Meter preliminaries on Friday night with a qualifying time of 8.21. Osika placed 12th in the semifinal round and Landri Martinka paced the Bobcats in the event with a time of 8.22.
- Maren Hester recorded a ninth-place finish in the Women's High Jump with a height of 1.40 meters and Devon Davis led the throwers in the Women's Shot Put with a season-best mark of 9.84 meters.
