BELMONT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey used a 10-point fourth quarter comeback and earned the 78-77 overtime win over Lees-McRae women's basketball this evening.
Kaylee Carson had a game-high 20 points for the Bobcats.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae jumped out to a quick start with back-to-back three-pointers from Sandra Mason and Carson. The Bobcats led by eight with two minutes remaining in the first quarter and held the 17-13 advantage after the first 10 minutes.
- Lees-McRae pushed its lead to double digits in the second quarter and led by 11 heading into the halftime break.
- Carson moved the margin to 14 points off a layup and the Bobcats led by 18 at the 7:18 mark of the third quarter. Belmont Abbey cut the lead to 10 off a three-pointer from Ava Fulkerson at the end of the quarter.
- The Crusaders tied the contest at 72-72 with 28 seconds remaining after a made basket from Leigha Dennison. Belmont Abbey had a chance at the buzzer to win in regulation.
- Belmont Abbey took the lead at 76-75 in overtime and held off the Bobcats for a 78-77 win in the Wheeler Center.
- Hairston followed Carson with 19 points and Sydney Gueterman collected 11 points and six rebounds in the game.
