WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Lees-McRae men's and women's track & field teams were back in action over the past two days at the 8th annual Camel City Invitational at the JDL Fast Track. The Bobcats broke two school records and collected nine top-ten finishes over the two-day event.
THE BASICS
MEET: 8th Camel City Invitational
LOCATION: JDL Fast Track – Winston-Salem, North Carolina
MEN'S NOTABLES:
- Josh Gillis started Saturday with breaking his school record in the Mile this year with a new time of 4:19.92. He finished in sixth place in the event. Gillis also took second in the 800 Meters with a time of 1:54.91.
- Lodrick Scott placed sixth in the Triple Jump with a mark of 13.41 meters on Saturday.
- Shane Secor placed seventh in the 600 Meters with a time of 1:39.03.
- Rien Freeman crossed the finish line with a time of 4:23.90 in the Mile and took 10th.
- Isaac Reyna tallied a time of 15:23.84 in the 5,000 Meters and Max Geckler finished the event with a time of 15:34.81.
- Andrew Belcher had a mark of 14.14 meters in the Weight Throw and finished in ninth place.
WOMEN'S NOTABLES:
- Megan Knapp posted a school record in the Mile with a time of 5:16.59 and placed 22nd individually.
- Lora Dillon earned third in the Long Jump with a mark of 5.43 meters.
