BRISTOL, Va. – The Lees-McRae College equestrian team competed at Emory & Henry at the Intermont Equestrian Center on March 21 and 22. The Bobcats took home multiple top placements and Venus Demello earned a spot toZone IV Championships hosted by Goucher College on Saturday, April 4. Lees-McRae earned fifth in first show on Saturday and moved to first in the second show on March 21.
Sam Soto posted second and fifth places in Introductory. Bella Pensis followed with a third-place posting. Soto placed fifth in Introductory in the region.
Maggie Dubil recorded first place in Pre-Novice. Kate Giordano tallied third place in Novice and Kimberly Pelletier earned fourth place.
In Limit Flat, Annika Bell earned second place both days. Bell placed fourth in the Limit Flat in the region.
DeMello finished in second in the Intermediate Flat both days. She also placed second and fifth in the Intermediate Fences. DeMello earned second in Limit Flat and fourth in Limit Flat.
DeMello will continue her spring season at the Zone IV Championships in Towson, Maryland on Saturday, April 4.
