Tim Hall begins his 12th season as the Director and Head Cycling Coach at Lees-McRae College, and 20th season total coaching collegiate cycling in the 2024-25 season.

Hall comes to the Bobcats from Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tenn., where he served as the head cycling coach for eight seasons.  Hall built the team at Cumberland into second overall Division II in 2011-2012 before transitioning to Division I in 2012-2013 when they finished eighth.  After seven seasons at Lees-McRae, he has led the program to three third-place finishes, three fourth-place, two fifth-place, and seven sixth-place finishes at nationals.  There have been ten individual national championships crowned during his tenure at Lees-McRae as well as SECCC Mountain Bike Champions all seven seasons.

Coach Hall began bicycling in 1998 and started racing competitively in 2000.  He competes as a Category 1 on the road, and Category 2 in cyclocross and mountain.  Hall has competed at multiple masters and elite road nationals, masters and elite cyclocross nationals, worlds cyclocross championship, and many other elite-level road and cyclocross events. 

Hall also has a tremendous background in business, team building, and race promotion.  Additionally, Hall has been involved in the community throughout his career, spearheading community service projects such as Ride for Reading and raising nearly $100,000 for veterans organization Team Red, White, and Blue.

He holds both a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Masters of Business Administration from Cumberland, where he played baseball and earned NAIA All-American honors. He was drafted out of Cumberland in the 31st round of the 1991 MLB draft by the San Diego Padres as a catcher, and played four years of professional baseball for San Diego, Atlanta Braves, and the Corpus Christi Barracudas.   

 Hall is a native of Nashville, Tenn., and currently resides in Beech Mountain, N.C.
