Jamie McQuaker

Jamie McQuaker was named Head Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach at Lees-McRae College after a successful tenure at Southern Union State Community College, where he led both golf programs from 2020 to 2022. During his time at Southern Union State, McQuaker guided the teams to national recognition, including the program’s first appearance at the NJCAA National Tournament and a fourth-place finish in 2021-22. Under his leadership, the men’s team earned a national ranking of 19th, while the women’s team reached 13th nationally. He also coached individual national qualifiers Kate Herrod and Kenny Okins and helped secure conference and district honors for both programs.

In addition to coaching, McQuaker played a key role in enhancing the student-athlete experience by coordinating strength and conditioning resources, improving access to sports medicine services, and establishing Robert Trent Jones Grand National in Opelika, Alabama as the program’s home course. A former collegiate golfer himself, McQuaker graduated from Columbus State University, where he competed on the men’s golf team and was part of the 2003 Peach Belt Conference Championship squad. His playing career also included a runner-up finish at the 1999 NJCAA National Championship and membership on the Scotland U-18 national team from 1995 to 1997.
