Cat Lovallo enters her third season as the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach in 2020-21 and sixth season overall as a part of the Bobcats' coaching staff.
"I am excited to give Coach Lovallo this opportunity and work beside her," said Lees-McRae Vice President for Athletics and Club Sports Craig McPhail. "Cat is a hardworking, loyal coach who has spent four years prepping for this moment."
During her time in Banner Elk, Lovallo has helped coach the Bobcats to a total of 15 victories and two appearances in the Conference Carolinas Women's Lacrosse Tournament. In addition to those accomplishments, Lovallo helped coach 14 Academic All-Conference honorees as well as six All-Conference Carolinas players.
Prior to beginning her coaching career, Lovallo was a two-time first-team all-conference player at St. Andrews University in Laurinburg, N.C. As a player, Lovallo was named the 2013 Appalachian Athletic Conference's Women's Lacrosse Player of the Year, while earning All-American first-team accolades in the National Women's Lacrosse League.
Prior to her playing time at St. Andrews, Lovallo spent two years at Brookdale Community College and was named captain in 2012 while earning all-region recognition, twice, and all-conference, once, in 2010.
Lovallo holds a Bachelor's Degree in psychology and exercise science and a Master's Degree in college coaching and athletic administration, while also being certified in CPR and First Aid.
