Sawyer Widecrantz joined the Lees-McRae staff as an Athletics Operations and Facilities Coordinator in the Fall of 2026.

Widecrantz ensures that the athletics facilities are going to foster the well-being of all Lees-McRae student athletes and make each athletic event a memorable experience for athletes and spectators. Sawyer strives to be the most adaptable and well-rounded person in his position. Widecrantz spent the last few years as an intern for Sports Information Director, Blake Smith, in game operations which gave him a unique viewpoint in being able to work with student-athletes through professionalism, knowledge, experience, and understanding. 

Widecrantz, a New Jersey native, graduated in 2026 with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management with a minor in Athletic Coaching.
