The Lees-McRae College Bobcats soccer team traveled to Erskine
College to battle the Flying Fleet in Carolinas-Virginia Athletic
Conference action Saturday afternoon, returning home with a 1-1
draw. The tie gives the Bobcats a 7-5-3 record, (4-2-2 CVAC).
CVAC leading scorer Berin Boracic scored his 11th goal of the
season in the 8th minute to give the Bobcats the early 1-0 lead.
Nathan Wall placed a diagonal ball behind the Erskine defenders
giving Boracic the opportunity to out run his man and get to the
free ball. Boracic dribbled around Erskine goalkeeper Josh Veal
and made no mistake from the tough angle.
Erskine battled back and scored the equalizer in the 76th
minute. Franz Destin broke free down the right side and sent a
driven ball into the box that John Michael Leppert was able to head
on goal in stride hitting the post. The rebound would come right
back to Leppert, who buried the second attempt into the right
corner of the net.
The Bobcats will return to CVAC action Wednesday October 18th when
they travel to the defending CVAC Champion Belmont Abbey
Crusaders. Kick off is set for 3:00p.m.
