The Lees-McRae College Lady Bobcats soccer team hosted the
Limestone Lady Saints in Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference
action Tuesday evening, earning a 0-0 draw with the feisty visitors
to move their overall record to 4-6-1, (2-3-1 CVAC).
The game proved to be a battle of goalkeepers as each turned
away quality scoring opportunities from the opposing players. Lady
Saints goalkeeper Liz Eichorn tallied 7 saves over the course of
the double overtime marathon, while the Lady Bobcats Anita Hekman
registered ten, recording her fourth shutout of the season.
"Limestone was a very physical team and we battled hard for 110
minutes," commented Head Coach Renee Lopez. We had some great
opportunities and played with so much heart and desire, we just
couldn't find the back of the net."
The Lady Bobcats will host Mount Olive on homecoming this
Saturday afternoon at 1:00p.m. The men will follow in a double
header at 3:30p.m.
