The Lees-McRae College Bobcats basketball team will look to get
back into the win column this evening when they travel to Virginia
Military Institute to take on the Keydets. This will be the first
of back to back games against Division I opponents on the schedule
this year.
Last Time Out:
After defeating #19 Mount Olive College 86-77 on home court, the
Bobcats took to the road to battle defending CVAC Champion Barton
College. The Bulldogs entered the season ranked ninth in NCAA
Division II, slipping to #12 at the time of the match up with
Lees-McRae. The depth and experience of the Bulldogs powered the
home side to a 94-66 victory that evened the Bobcats record at 3-3
(2-1 CVAC).
Tonight's Match Up:
VMI currently sits at 3-7, their record surely not indicitave of
their offensive firepower. The Keydets currently lead all of
Division I in Scoring Offense averaging 99 points per game, as well
as three point field goals per game averaging 14.8 per game from
behind the arc. On the defensive side of the ball, the Keydets
also lead the nation in steals per game with an average of 16.1 per
game. Tip off is set for 7:00pm.
