THOMASVILLE, NC--Lees-McRae College Bobcats soccer player Kyle
McGimsey has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference
Carolinas men's soccer Player of the Week for the final week of the
2007 season. The award is the first for McGimsey this season.
A junior midfielder from Plant City, FL, McGimsey would score
both goals in a 2-0 win over Conference Carolinas rival Belmont
Abbey College last Wednesday in the Bobcats final home game of the
regular season. In an 11-0 rout of Chowan University in the
Bobcats regular season finale, McGimsey would find the back of the
net once to bring his season total to seven, helping him claim the
Bobcats sixth player of the week honor in nine weeks.
The Bobcats have dominated Conference Carolinas play this
season, finishing with a 9-1 conference record, and 16-1-1 overall
to win the Regular Season Championship. The Bobcats, currently
ranked number one in the southeast region and number two in the
country, battle Erskine College in Conference Carolinas
Quarterfinal action Tuesday evening at Tate Field. Game time is
set for 7:00pm.
