BANNER ELK, NC--The Lees-McRae Lady Bobcats volleyball team
improved to 15-3 in Conference Carolinas play Tuesday evening,
defeating Queens University of Charlotte 3-0, (30-28, 30-11,
30-18). The Lady Bobcats overall record now stands at 21-11, while
the Royals fall to 3-30 (2-17 Conference Carolinas).
Junior Natalie Burns (Orlando, FL) hit an astounding .571 in the
match, recording nine kills while senior Daviana Metti (Cordoba,
Argentina) hit .520 and picked up a match high 15 kills. Freshman
Kell Bogdan (Leawood, KS) recorded ten digs while Metti added nine
and freshman Tracey Copley (Virginia Beach, VA) picked up three
service aces. As a team, the Lady Bobcats recorded a .451 hitting
percentage in the three game match.
Queens were led by Keatin McKenzie with 14 kills while Veronica
Alexander registered 10. Sarah Burt picked up 24 assists for the
visitors while Alexander also chipped in a match high four service
aces.
The Lady Bobcats will continue their four game home stand to
conclude the regular season this weekend at Williams Gymnasium.
Coker College pays a visit Friday evening for a 7:00pm contest
while St. Andrews Presbyterian comes to town Saturday afternoon for
a 2:00pm game to finish the regular season.
