The Lees-McRae Lady Bobcats fell 19-5 Saturday afternoon to
Presbyterian College in non-conference women's lacrosse action.
The Lady Bobcats fall to 0-2, (0-1 CVAC) while Presbyterian evens
their record at 1-1.
The win avenges a 13-11 loss the Lady Bobcats handed
Presbyterian in their final game of last season. Rachel Beaumont
led Presbyterian in the victory, scoring the first five goals of
her career for the Lady Blue Hose. Brittni Dullany scored a hat
trick for the hime side while Berkley Aiken added two goals and two
assists and Ali Carney, Shannon Strodel, and Trista Sturdivant a
pair of goals each. Sally Maple, Jordan
Newberry and Riviere Propst each buried singles.
Julia Campbell led the Lady Bobcats with the first two goals of
her collegiate career. Clair Shaw also buried her first collegiate
goal while Brittany Dabkowski and Marjie Lesser also contributed
singles.
Overall, Presbyterian dominated the Bobcats in every major
statistical category. The Lady Blue Hose outshot the Bobcats 36-19
and picked up six more (22-16) ground balls in the game than
Lees-McRae.
Erin McBurnette made ten saves for Presbyterian while Olivia
Maurey, (pictured top left), made seven in the Lady Bobcats
goal.
The Lady Bobcats will get back in action next Wednesday when
they travel to Limestone College to take on the Lady Saints.
Limestone is ranked #4 in NCAA Division II women's lacrosse.
